The Scottish 6 Days is planned to take place in Lochaber during the 1-7 Aug 21.  Moravian is hosting Day 3 at Arisaig which is being co-planned by Eddie, and controlled by Roo who will act as the Assistant Controller.  Andrew and Nikki have volunteered to organise the Day on behalf of the Club and will be looking for volunteers to assist with preparations and help on the Day.  If you wish to volunteer, then please get in touch with either Andrew (Chair(@)mor.scot) or Nikki (Events(@)mor.scot) who will be extremely grateful for your support.  Please delete the brackets when using the email addresses.

Many thanks to all who have booked already - it helps us as organisers getting a feel for the level of infrastructure required. Unlike some previous events we are planning and organising around stricter Covid-19 guidance and will have separate and wider start lanes and more staggered starts. For those who have not yet booked please think about getting your entries in earlier rather than later. MOR currently have 15 entries.

Lossie Forest - Forestry work

The recent MAD in Lossiemouth forest has now been collected, Paul F collected the kites last Saturday, he commented "whilst I was expecting some missing trees due to the ongoing forestry, I found it necessary to invent “Forensic Orienteering” as parts of the forest are trashed and even some of the contours have changed." The photo shows one Kite that he was pleased to find, still in place whilst the trees all around had gone! The photo shows part of the northern complex dunes area between the forest and the beach, whilst some trees remain the visibility is transformed.

One MOR Mini Kite left stranded!

The effect on the smaller contours will take some time to fade as the harvester has made large grooves through the terrain. The harvester has cut through some of the best contours making new tracks, whilst they seem to be removing brashings in other parts of the forest, it will be some time before the forest recovers. Who knows if it will recover the previously formidable technicality we love.
