What a weekend we had and we even had our usual Moravian luck with the weather! It all went very well. Thanks to Elizabeth, Liz and Marsela McLeod on Saturday, and Andrew, Morag and David Summers on Sunday.  The results and routegadget links can be found on the RESULTS page.

Lossie Forest SOL Controller's comments
I hope you all enjoyed your day in Lossie. It's a good forest with plenty variety and challenge. Andrew put a lot of thought and work in as planner and came up with great courses, and Morag was a superbly efficient organiser.

A number of people queried the position of Control 161. Although we had no formal complaint, I decided to revisit it along with another experienced controller, and we judged that in relation to the path to the north and the open depression to the north-west, it was correct. However, there is another unmapped clearing to the east of it, and the contours do appear to need some revision. I have also analysed the split times and any time lost on a leg going to it hasn't affected first places on any course, and relatively little effect on other positions. All in all, I have decided to let the results stand. Andrew and I also debated whether to mark the main forest roads used for parking with red X's, to keep competitors separated from cars and people walking to the start or back from the finish, but decided against it, as it seems that some people had misinterpreted that symbol in the past. Part of the road was a possible route on some courses, but was not an optimum route choice for any leg. For future reference, a row of X's on the overprint means that competitors are not allowed to run along the road, but may cross it at any point.

After the two weekend events many main club league points have been awarded. The updated spreadsheet for the 2020/21 joint seasons is on the LEAGUE TABLES page. The new points are on pages 3 and 4

Club Running Tops
The new tops and jackets have arrived and been distributed to their new owners. Even some of the spare items have found homes already. I still have four running tops left. If you think you might want one of these the guide for Kit and sizes is on the MEMBERS AREA page. Please contact Margaret Dearman if you are interested.
