    MAD

The Roseisle forest MAD is now closed, there will be  a new MAD in Culbin shortly, watch this space!

    Your Club Needs You!

Our Junior Badge Coordinator has become Club Secretary, so we need a new coordinator. It's a straight forward task and requires keeping track of the number of events that juniors have completed towards each badge level, and also whether they have attained any of the technical standard badges e.g. Yellow Standard. All of this data is available in the the website results. The badge webpage has some more details: https://www.mor.scot/node/90

Morag would be pleased to hear from anyone interested in finding out more, contact her on secretary@mor.scot

    Fixtures

We have plenty fixtures ready but are waiting for news of when outdoor sport will resume so that we can hit the ground running (sorry). We will keep you advised via the website and newsletter.

  • Lochaber 2021 & Lossiemouth Forestry

The Scottish 6 Days is planned to take place in Lochaber during the 1-7 Aug 21.  Moravian is hosting Day 3 at Arisaig which is being co-planned by Eddie, and controlled by Roo who will act as the Assistant Controller.  Andrew and Nikki have volunteered to organise the Day on behalf of the Club and will be looking for volunteers to assist with preparations and help on the Day.  If you wish to volunteer, then please get in touch with either Andrew (Chair(@)mor.scot) or Nikki (Events(@)mor.scot) who will be extremely grateful for your support.  Please delete the brackets when using the email addresses.

    lochaber 2021

Many thanks to all who have booked already - it helps us as organisers getting a feel for the level of infrastructure required. Unlike some previous events we are planning and organising around stricter Covid-19 guidance and will have separate and wider start lanes and more staggered starts. For those who have not yet booked please think about getting your entries in earlier rather than later. MOR currently have 15 entries.

  • Events Update 20/1/2021

Due to the recent extension of  Lockdown restrictions we are unsure when events can resume. However we have a number of events planned that can be staged at short notice once we have a date for lifting the restrictions. For example it should still be dark enough for a night event until the 1st week of March. Please monitor the website for the latest information.

See the Coaching page for details of current Moravian Athlete Development (MAD) exercises available.

  • Scottish Orienteering - 08/01/2021

Scottish Orienteering Guidelines Level 4 – Stay At Home

In light of the First Minister’s announcement that mainland Scotland has been placed in extended Level 4 ‘stay at home’ restrictions we are required to publish new guidance to reflect these significant changes effective from 8th January 2021.

Orienteering in Level 4 – Stay at Home: All club organised activities, coaching and events have been suspended until further notice.

Travel restrictions: To minimise the risk of spreading the virus, you must stay at home as much as possible. When taking part in sport, exercise or recreation participants should at all times follow Scottish Government ‘stay at home’ guidance.

Meeting other people: A maximum of 2 people from up to 2 separate households (12 years or over) can meet outdoors for sport, exercise or recreation purposes if 2m physical distancing is maintained, before, during and after the activity.

Members are still permitted to enjoy orienteering as part of their daily exercise and we encourage the use of permanent courses and MapRunF*.
